Dogs naturally lose old or damaged hair by shedding. The amount usually depends upon their health, breed type and the season. Here are some of our top tips on caring for your dogs that shed.

Your dog’s skin is an indication of their overall health. When a skin problem occurs, your dog may respond with excessive scratching, chewing and/or licking. A wide range of causes, including external parasites, infections, allergies, metabolic problems and stress, or a combination of these may be affecting your dog’s skin.

What Are Fleas?

With nearly 2,000 species and subspecies, fleas thrive in warm, humid environments, and feed on the blood of their hosts. Dogs play host to the cat flea (Ctenocephalides felis), whose dark brown or black body is usually one to three millimeters in length.

What Is Bad Breath?

We all know bad breath, also known as halitosis. Bad breath is the result of a build-up of odor producing bacteria in your dog’s mouth, lungs or gut. Persistent bad breath can indicate that your dog needs better dental care or that something is wrong in his insides. It could be one of many things liver, kidneys or the stomach. In all cases, halitosis is a red flag that should be investigated.
